NFL Power Ratings & Computer Rankings
FSN ranks all 32 NFL teams with opponent-adjusted strength, EPA efficiency, résumé and schedule context. These 2026 NFL power ratings are model output — not a rewrite of the standings or a copied media ballot.
Results are interpreted through opponent strength and schedule quality instead of treating every win or loss as equal.
Current efficiency helps separate sustainable team strength from a record shaped by a small sample or unusual game script.
Strength-of-record, recent form and uncertainty controls keep the model responsive without overreacting to one Sunday.

How FSN NFL Power Ratings Work
Opponent-adjusted power
FSN combines opponent-adjusted neutral-field team strength, current EPA efficiency when available, strength-of-record, recent opponent-adjusted form, schedule context, and an early-season prior that fades as current results accumulate. Head-to-head breaks near-ties.
EPA is context, not the whole answer
Efficiency signals help explain how teams are performing beneath the win-loss record. FSN combines them with opponent quality and résumé rather than ranking teams from one metric.
Small samples are controlled
Early-season priors and sample-size controls fade as the current season supplies more evidence, reducing wild swings from one unusual result.
Power ratings answer a different question than standings: how strong is each team right now after accounting for who it played and how it performed? For postseason probability, use the FSN Playoff Predictor; for one matchup, use the NFL Game Simulator.
