AI & Automation at FSN

How Football Sports News uses AI-assisted research, automated newsroom publishing, manual flagship workflows, generated illustrations and model-driven tools.

FSN uses automation and AI-assisted tools in clearly defined parts of its publishing workflow. This page explains what that means so readers can understand how different types of FSN content are produced.

Automated newsroom reports

Some timely FSN news reports are produced through an automated newsroom workflow. The process begins with a football report from a source FSN allows into its newsroom system and can gather additional context before drafting. The resulting article may publish without line-by-line human editing. Mechanical work such as SEO metadata, excerpts, slugs, image alt text and taxonomy can also be automated.

Automated publication does not give the system permission to invent quotes, statistics, transactions or other facts. Reporting should remain attributable to the source trail, and material errors are subject to the same Corrections Policy as any other FSN article.

Manually directed flagship coverage

FSN also publishes higher-touch articles that are manually commissioned and researched. AI tools may assist with research, drafting, editing, structure or production, but the article is intentionally developed as a separate manual publishing workflow rather than generated by the automated Writer Agent.

Generated editorial illustrations

Some FSN featured images are AI-generated editorial illustrations. They are intended to communicate the subject, team colors and football atmosphere; they should not be interpreted as documentary photographs of a specific real-world moment unless the page identifies them as such.

Models, probabilities and simulations

FSN tools may calculate win probabilities, confidence rankings or other simulations from football data and model logic. These outputs are deterministic estimates based on their inputs, not random 50/50 guesses, and they are not guarantees of future results.

Why FSN discloses this

Readers should be able to tell who or what produced the content they are reading. FSN uses the FSN Staff organizational byline for managed newsroom content and provides production notes on those article pages. The site’s Editorial Standards apply regardless of which tools assisted production.
