Indiana defensive ends Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt have been granted a temporary restraining order restoring their eligibility for the Hoosiers’ upcoming season opener against North Texas.

The Colorado Ruling

Daley and Wyatt initially announced their return in August based on a Colorado ruling that granted qualifying members of the class of 2022 an additional year of eligibility. The players previously lost eligibility because they did not have their own injunction or temporary restraining order after the NCAA was granted a stay request in that lawsuit.

Defensive Impact

Stephen Daley is a transfer from Kent State who was a critical piece of the Hoosiers’ defense last fall. Prior to suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 8, Wyatt totaled eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Their availability changes the immediate dynamic for Indiana as they prepare to face North Texas on Saturday afternoon with Daley and Wyatt eligible to play. This development ensures that experienced edge rushers are available to disrupt opposing offenses from the opening snap.
